Brownsboro Real Estate
The Brownsboro neighborhood in Louisville Kentucky is a wonderful area in the East End of Louisville. It’s located within the City of Louisville and gets its name locally because of its proximity to Brownsboro Road. The neighborhood is contained within Highway 71 to its north, Highway 42 and 264 to its east Westport road to its south and Hurstbourne Parkway to its east.
Brownsboro Road runs right thru the center of the area. Several subdivisions are in the neighborhood. They are, Old Brownsboro Place, Crossgate, which in itself is its own tiny little 6th class city, Graymoor-Devondale, Briarwood, Westwood, Rolling Hills, Langdon place, Murray Hill, Broeck Point, Manor Creek, Barbourmeade and Brownsboro Farms.
There are several reasons living in one of these subdivisions is such a great idea. Primarily, its the location of the neighborhood. From anywhere in these subdivisions, it’s a very short drive to hop onto either highway 71 or highway 264. Highway 71 runs north and south. So that’s the best way to head south to downtown Louisville, or north to Cincinnati. Highway 264 runs east to west. Between the two, it’s easy to get anywhere in Louisville.
Another great reason for living here is the shopping and dining options. Next to the intersection of I-264 and Brownsboro Road is the Holiday Manor Shopping area. Holiday Manor has great stores, a Kroger and several dining establishments including an incredible local Cuban restaurant called, “Mojito Tapas Restaurant”. Just over three miles to the east is Westport Plaza. Westport Plaza also has a Kroger. This Kroger has a Starbucks inside. Additional stores in Westport plaza are the Jefferson County Clerk’s office, the Louisville Athletic Club, Radio Shack and several banks. For restaurants, it has an Indian Restaurant, a Mexican Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, an Italian restaurant and, of course, american fast food.
Two miles north of Westport Plaza is an amazing outdoor mall called, “The Paddock”. The Paddock offers an upscale shopping experience with fashion clothing stores such as, Banana Republic, White House Black Market and J. Crew. Build a Bear, Barnes and Noble round out the fun stores while Pier 1 Imports and Bed Bath and Beyond have everything needed for the home and more. Stoney River is a restaurant there that delivers arguably the best steak in Louisville. Other upscale dining can be found with Mitchell’s Fish Market and Martini Italian Bistro while Qdoba, Five Guys Burgers and Fries and Starbucks offer a more casual fare.
The cost of homes in the brownsboro Neighborhood vary based on what subdivision the house is purchased in. For example, Westwood has homes between the $150,000’s to the $250,000’s. Old Brownsboro Place, Langdon Place, Murray Hill, Brownsboro Farms and Graymoor-Devondale offers homes in the low to upper $200,000’s. Manor Creek and Barbourmeade houses range somewhere in the $300,000’s
The Brownsboro neighborhood is a desirable place to live. There are many reasons for that. Subdivisions here offer rolling hills and mature trees. It’s in the east end of Louisville. It’s relatively close to the Ohio River. It has fast and convenient access to highways that get drivers anywhere in Louisville quickly. There are three fantastic shopping centers in the area. All these reasons make the Brownsboro neighborhood a wonderful place to live.
